What should I do if a tooth gets knocked out?
Pick up the tooth by the crown (the chewing surface) never the root. Gently rinse it with water if it’s dirty, but do not scrub it or remove any tissue fragments. If possible, place it back in the socket and hold it in place. If you can’t re-insert it, keep it moist in a cup of milk or saliva. Call us immediately and come to the office within 30 minutes for the best chance of saving the tooth.
